Find a good indie that knows what they're doing. Most of the good ones updates the service records on the Mercedes database

    Hello
    Thanks for your reply’s
If the local garage didn’t have access to the Mercedes data base can I send the information to Mercedes for them to put it on their data base
Any idea what a cost of a b service should cost ?
    Thanks

    Thanks
I’ve had a quote from a Mercedes specialist
    Service £295
    Fuel filter £140
    Air filter £60
Does this sound about right ?
    Thanks

I don’t think anyone will put a service onto dsb for you as it will be their name on the service record, and they didn’t do the service.

    Sorry I’m confused
What I mean is if my garage does the service can I not email the paper work to Mercedes for them to put it on there database so that if I rang Mercedes and asked them it would say that the car has been serviced
    Hope this makes sense

Why does MB need to have the service noted on their records? Surely a headed piece of paper from an Indie noting what had been done & when is more than sufficient. At least you can pass that bit of paper on to who ever might subsequently buy the car

    Hello
I agree but I should really be on the Mercedes database ( digital service book )
I miss the days of a service book you just got stamped
It just seem very expensive, over £500 for a service + what ever “else” they find whilst servicing the car

When you enter a service on the dsb, it’s done by the garage who is registered with mb, it’s like you asking a garage to stamp a service book when it’s been serviced by someone else. Try mb uk and see what they say?

Seems expensive for a indie, have you received a quote from Mercedes?

Might be worth investigating a service plan, price includes 12 months Mobilo cover and a courtesy car

    https://www.mercedes-benz.co.uk/passengercars/being-an-owner/service-care/header.module.html

    Mobilo/breakdown cover -

Another option would be to purchase the parts yourself and just pay a trusted garage the labour rate.

£140 for a fuel filter sounds a bit steep

    Thanks jbell
I’ve put my details in , it just gives me a price for a service nothing else
Is this because I chose the service option ?
It just tells me what’s involved in a service
    Thanks
