Afternoon everyone,
This is a problem I have put up with for longer than I care to think about.
When I start my 1996 C180 from cold, if I do not keep pressure on the accelerator pedal, it stalls. It appears the cold start choke is failing to engage.
Once the engine is warm, when sitting in P, the car engine revs go up and down. I have checked the inlet manifold vacuum pipes for leaks and they appear fine.
Took the car across for it's MoT test today and the car failed for a high CO reading of .63.
Anyone got any ideas what might be causing this? Are these symptoms all linked?
I have 10 days to get to the bottom of this or pay two MoT test fees!
Help!
