Hi Guys, I was planning to replace the Starter Battery and I know some requires the PCM to be reset so Alternator doesn’t overcharge. Is there any chance anyone can confirm if 2018 cla180 follows that trend? The manual provides option to DIY and not necessarily dealer/garage but doesn’t talk about PCM reset though. Any help greatly appreciated.

It can be reset but does not NEED to be. Its not used for charge managment like on the BMW's more for cumulative discharge monitoring.

EG How much have I taken out of the battery vs been put in, if its a big negative number, it stops the stop/start system kicking in etc.
