Any advice appreciated on the steps to remove the storage tray that is between the radio and the ash tray on a 2003 CLK430 Cabriolet. It appears to be lined with rubber that has deteriorated and coming apart. This is just above the center console, and if I can figure out how to get the ash tray removed, I expect removing the deteriorated storage tray will be obvious....hopefully. Thanks.

Thanks. I got your email and replied. Sorry, but i still need help with removing the ashtray and storage tray. Your pictures are from a different model and different console than my 2003 CLK430. I do appreciate the response.

yes, it is a 208 body style. I finally found a close resemblance from a different year model, and have now been able to remove the ashtray and the storage tray. So, thanks for the response, and no need to do any further research. I do appreciate your input. Thanks.

Thank, I was just wondering if there were 2 slots in the bottom where you insert the 2 keys.

No slots on bottom, nor keys involved. It has a latch on the top rear that grabs the bottom of the radio slot to lock it in place. By removing the ashtray below the storage tray, I was able to reach in behind the old tray and release the latch on top, then it just slides out. Pretty simple, once you know about the latch.
