Hi all,
I picked up a lovely E280 last week. It's very tidy with good service history.
On a 58 plate she has 88k miles.
The only niggle so far is the command won't take in a cd. I believe this set has internal 6 cd changer not the under mounted one.
Any ideas of anyone who may look at it?? Local to Bournemouth.
Thanks, Mark.

I don't think there is anyone local to Bournemouth Mark:(
Comand Online in Lightwater Surrey are the go to place for anything Comand related.

Give them a call and ask their advice?
Ask for Mark or Richard.

Hi. Yes emailed Mark earlier today.
He said if it's the changer then needs replacing but it is all internal to the main command module.
If the whole thing needs replacing thinks it's gona be pricey££

If its the internal six disk changer type then this can be replaced. Its about £600 fitted though!

Thanks Alfie.
That's what I assumed would be the case.
Would this be from command direct or a local indie. I will be looking around on internet today see what can find out.

Alfie,
Spot on price wise. Spoken with comand and yep £599 to replace.
I'm going to get this done as soon as I'm able as hope to need music on trips in Europe later in year, hopefully!!

Rather than spend £600 getting the CD changer replaced on the antiquated Comand system, what about asking Alfie for the price to replace it with an up to date Pioneer or similar system (which comand.co.uk aka unique car sounds can supply and fit!)

I didn't realize that it was an option to change for something different.
Thanks maybe worth a look into.

I have NTG2.5 in the SLK, MB will not be releasing any further map updates for the 2.5 satnav, the latest are 2019 (I have the DVD set available for considerably less than new price!).

As for changing to something different, there's quite a few threads about installing a chinese android unit (Erisin is one make frequently mentioned) but it's a bit of a minefield, especially to keep the steering wheel buttons working.Mark (Alfie) and Richard won't install them, but do have a few units from Pioneer etc that they will supply and fit - but those units are rather more costly than the Ebay/Ali Express ones!

Looks like this thread on here is a good place to start!
