Hi Folks

Just bought another lovely 320 CLK CDI ( see picture ) the last one went 4 years ago ...needed another as a third car. Anyhow the cooling is pathetic even with the fan on full and switched to air cond it hardly is blowing any cool let alone cold air ..ideas?

Also although it has an ancient-looking phone connect in the am rest is there anything I can buy to allow an i phone to run through the MB system ie via the steering wheel etc.

Thanks in advance

Charles

Hi and welcome.
The cooling issue could be anything from needing a regas (common) to a failed compressor. If it needs a regas it will need properly checking for leaks. Common leaks are compressor seals or condenser going rotten and getting a hole.

If it's hardly blowing any air, then check that the pollen filter isn't blocked with leaf's etc.

Thanks, Bubble will try it tomorrow without it .
As you seem to be very knowledgeable can I ask a few more questions?
Can the diesel 320 engine be chipped ...would you recommend it?
What is the maximum size of tyres that can fitted with the current wheels on the car ?
thanks

I had my CLK320 remapped by GAD and it was well worth it.

I changed the standard AMG wheels for some different aftermarket wheels, which were slightly wider and ran 275/35X18 on the rear and 245/40X18 on the front. I also used 5mm spacers on the rear!

I run the same size tyres on my E350 Coupe as well.
