My dad's car is in a rusty state (it's also a W210). If this is the way to repair it then I might have a go starting with the front wings. From the other thread you commented on these wings you have are from ECP and galvanised arent they?

It says so on the box...they are a good fit...photos when sprayed...they are fitted and the car is back in one piece now.

But here's a sample:







The insides where epoxy primed and treated liberally with Bilt Hamber Dynax wax.

^ Yes...goes on easily and has a nice consistency...time will tell.

No, but they do say on the tin that it can slow down the rust process on rusty metal...time would tell.

You can use Jenolite. I think Bilt Hamber is a similar compound - phosphoric acid. I've normally ground back the rust as far as I can (if it's really bad then it'll need cutting away) then applied jenolite (in my case) then zinc primer, primer then topcoat.
