Hi
I was driving along the M4 when a rattle started (like a plastic bag getting caught under the van.)
the rattle stopped when I took my foot off the acellerator and resumed when I pressed again.
I looked in the mirror and saw light blue smoke coming out of the back (not a huge plume of smokescreen, but enough!)
The engine cut out and would not restart.
I stopped on the hard shoulder and was relayed back to my local garage.
the turbo is ok, there is fuel getting to the engine but the diagnostis suggest low fuel pressure.
when easy start is squirted in, the engine will fire and run.
The mechanic is a bit flummoxed and says the high pressure fuel pump requires engine removal, which may not fix it.
the van has done 105,000 miles and appears to be scrap....
HELP!!!!
Thanks
