Please help, my key fob for Mercedes A class 1.5 is playing up, it unlocks but doesn’t lock, I don’t know if it’s key battery or button or something else? Please advise what should I do??

Try a new battery in the fob, easiest and cheapest first step.

Try the spare key. If it locks and unlocks on that, probably button fault. I'd suspect battery if neither worked on the first remote, but why should it unlock but not lock if battery faulty

Thank you, but unlock button works and lock button doesn’t work can it be battery issue

Is the top of the lock button cracked or broken? If so moisture can get in and corrode the contacts.

I only have one key fob and spare key from key fob works fine, I can close manually it’s lock button not functioning at all, do you recon it’s battery issue??

No. I'd suspect micro switch inside key.

as above, try a new battery and re sinc first, if that does not work then either key faulty, or control unit faulty.
