Bit O/T but never mind,

Any thoughts on using copper grease on the bolts/hub?

The hub is very stiff due to the liberal coating of power coat after wheel refurb, takes a fair wallop to get 'em off.

Bolts make that 'orrible cracking noise as they jarr with the alloy seat when being tightened/undone, it's a crack!! sounds like the bolts has snapped.

I have the blue silicone grease and moly but thought to check in first,.

Copper or silver slip is a good idea on the hub flanges as well as the bolts.

Cheers will get some this week as all four corners coming off for new master cylinder -

Are those bottles of wine in your piccy?

If so do you drink them all first then your wheels look better, bit like beer goggles ;)

It's been said that copper grease on the bolt threads can reduce the friction when tightening and cause them to stretch with possible dangers.

I still apply a little around the bolt mating faces and around the hub.

I would avoid like the plague putting any form of grease/lubrication on the threads, between the wheel and hub faces yes but wheel bolt threads NO NO NO:shock:

I wire brushed the hubs clean which helped, anything to stop the corrosion setting in has to be a good thing, lot's of threads relating to wheel bolt seizure.

Most just changing wheels at home but if it was beside the road with a standard wrench you would be stuffed.
