Why is the cost of changing the dpf so expensive tho

You can’t have blocked the dpf in 300 miles , some other fault must be at play .

The dpf clean was done by Terraclean, who also checked for other problems which could be causing the dpf to show as blocked , no other probs found and they advised I had to drive car for 30 mins at around 2500-3000 rpm , as I only drive very short journeys , and that’s on local roads

Call me a cynic, but it's not in Terracleans' best interests to find the reason why the DPF isn't regenerating, I'm sure they'll be happy for the repeat business when it doesn't regen again, there is a reason for this, an Indy will help you find it.

The main dealer down on SA1 used to be pretty good. I used them when I lived out in West Wales and was happy with their service. Part of the Sinclair group (which is about all the main brand dealers across South Wales..). Not sure what they’re like these days though.

Hi guys , been looking at a couple of OBD2 diagnostics tool, couple say they can Regen the dpf , is this true

Maybe the icarsoft range can do it , but if the fault is a sensor then you won’t be able to force a regen , until it’s repaired ?

Carsoft is one of the tools that will give you live data of the soot fill rate so you know when to manipulate your driving to get the regen to work if you need to do it that way(short journeys). Talk to Allister at "www.diagnosticworld.com" to recommend the best diagnostic tool for your car as I found him the most informative of any reps ive spoken to. Normally my OM651 is usually bang on regenerating at 300-350 and takes about 15 minutes driving

Thank u , I’ve had it cleaned in June , working fine and prob done around 300 miles if that , then July the engine management light cane on again , got it booked in wi MB to c if any other fault is causing the light to come on , Terraclean who cleaned the dpf said they check for other faults b4 doing the clean , and said they cudnt find any , can’t believe how easy they clog up as I’m only doing short journeys on town roads
