Can I register an interest please?

I have a 2004 clk 3.2 avangard with 92,000 on the clock, I have only had the car a couple of months, seems to drive fine to me, only issue I have is the temperature control on the interior heater only works on hot (26) and it gets to hot, anything less results in cold output, engine temp is fine and warms up quick. any ideas?

With a pure performance map on a standard vehicle we can easily get 90 bhp extra! They are so tamed down out of the factory.

Not sure you should 'knock' other vendors by saying its generic unless you know that to be true.

Also they show more estimnated improvement with their 'generic' software than you do .... are you saying you cant match that? (the SL500/306Bhp for example) you quote about a third of that improvement...????

I posted simply becuase I thought the format of it was easy enough to see at a glance whereas yours involved a few mouse clicks...

Sorry if it has come across this way, however this is not accurate compared with GAD software (as this is what the topic refers to).

With regards to mouse clicks the link is in our signature (direct to Mercedes page). Via our website Mercedes is two clicks to specific model gains.

Also the gains quoted on the site mentioned maybe unrealistic (in our view), we are fully bespoke so any result is possible we would rather under quote and over deliver as opposed to over quote and under deliver.

For instance a client came to us with a Golf TDI 130 BHP engine we could more than produce 170 BHP, BUT as a customers request we know this engine can exceed 220 BHP in a standard form with little effort. Of course you will suffer economy and potentially premature wear ie boost pressure but again this is a the clients request, but it is possible.

The gains quoted by us on the site are what we deem to be a safe upgrade covered by our £5M warranty. Also gains are an estimate again our software is bespoke meaning no two application are ever the same so gains will vary upon the data log presented.

Once again sorry if we have come over harsh this was not intended.

Hi spannaz, Yes we do in both development and at customer request. For instance take our 180 Bi Turbo transporter, last week we redeveloped the management on the dyno as a world first with the EDC17 CP20 with DSG and four motion inc popcorn limiter and DPF Disable. Data analysis before and after development we spent a total of 16 hours on the dyno to perfect the map, However further development on the road was required to perfect the map as this simulated "Real" conditions and driving. The dyno is a great tool however its key purpose is to prove numbers as its not always a good measure of how the vehicle performs in reality. Of course this is not always the case but 9 times out of 10 real driving is the best thing as this is what actually happens.

If your a body builder it's called steroids, if your a cyclist it's called cheating hormone, it's short termismn, just sad for the uninitiated who buy cars from the ones who are never satisfied with a good all round car they have previously owned.

How much nouse do you need to see that mercedes provide the optimum balance for their power units,bhp,longevity,low emissions,ecconomy, etc.

At the company i worked for people were dismissed if they were caught having their company cars remapped, also ask insurance companies what they think. ?.

As a previouse member stated the actual gains in bhp, compared to somone who can drive well are poor, anyway, this is just how i see it and apart from you informing the next owner of what you have done to your car, then yes it's a free country, ask the bankers and the politicians, just do what you want. herbiemercman.

Also as a keen bodybuilder what does performance enhancing drugs have to do with engine remapping??? Also arent cars built to the lowest common denominator??? so maps cant do much harm if done right?

Regarding you 420 CDI remapping would produce the following gains.

- 60 BHP

- 120 NM

Plus we would develop a new shift pattern map for the auto box to account for the software.


Regarding the lowest common denominator, you are correct all vehicles are built to be able to tolerate serious abuse such as.

- Missing service schedules
- Low grade fuel
- Temperatures
- Altitude (fuel and boost)
- Emissions regulations (world wide)

Just to name a few.
