Car hasn't had anything other than a pressure washer rinse.

Much as I like the look of nicely beaded water droplets, when you come to a stop, or worse, open a door and get in, you get an additional soaking from all the water stored on the roof..

My idaal "car finishing product" would be one that flattens-out the water, rather than leave blobs of dust and pollution on your paint once the water has evaporated.

I'm sure such a thing exists, but I've never seen it...

actually there are some products out there now that instead of beading the droplets its allows them to pool and sheet off, I think Meg's do something?

To do the "pooling and sheeting off" you need a hydrophilic product.

However they don't cause the water to pool. What happens is it causes the water to keep spreading and spreading until it is so thin it evaporates rapidly. This is because the molecules in a hydrophilic coating mix with the water rather than repel it.

I haven't seen a product for a car yet apart from testing samples. But you can get it for house windows in the US.

I know some companies are trying to develop superhydrophilic and superhydrophobic nano coatings. But as yet I haven't seen a production release. But that's not to say there isn't one.

Hi C350Carl have you ever got any of the sonax on your window screen, only I must of got some over spray on the back screen when I did my roof the other day and it's making my back wiper blade judder when used, I've tried a few things hot water and vinigar washing up liquid and the likes but it's not removed the BSD off my window, do you know of any products that will safely remove the film of sonax I got on my screen.
Thanks for any advice
Cheers
Bren

Just tried neat screen wash and gave the wiper blade a clean with neat vinigar and it's seemed to have cured the blade from juddering:D
Thanks for the replys and tips much appreciated
Cheers
Bren :D

A word of warning if you give your car a coat of Sonax then do not get any on your wind screens front and back it makes the wiper blades judder something rotten

Does Sonax adversely affect the rusty bits on less than perfect cars?

Not that I am aware of.

If it did it wouldn't be any worse than driving along wet roads. But I struggle to see how it could do.

Ok, thanks.
Just got some from ECP at 30% off. Bargain if it makes my old Coupe shine like all of yours.
Out with the clay and wax tomorrow for me.

Thanks for the informative posts.
