I only have a parking space and wanted to use some type of car lift that is potable and not too big. Has anyone got or used a Pivot/Tilt Car lift? Are they any good for minor things, Brakes etc? Can they be used for transmission filter fluid change if locked horizonal? I wanted to use it on an EClass Estate.

Looks interesting, the floor was perfectly flat and level though

Yes and seems easy to move around and store. Maybe a bit difficult to get to the centre of the underneath though, but I suppose you could make a flatbed to lie on that fits over the centre bar.

I have just noticed that it has a max weight of 1500Kg, so even though it shows a Mercedes Eclass estate on it, the car would actually be over the max weight.

Just looked again and this make of lift has a max of 3000Kg, the others are 1500kg, but much cheaper.

I saw a 2,000kg version on eBay. That would work for 3 of mine

Well I have ordered one and will let you know how it goes. It is £100 cheaper to buy direct, rather than EBAY

The Estate apparently is 1780kg anyway I have ordered the more expensive 3000kg one. Twice the price, but best to be safe. Plus 3 year guarantee.

Interesting bit of kit but not much use to me as I have nowhere to store it when not in use meaning it would only be useful in France where it could go in the barn, but there I can put in a two post lift for not much different money.

I do love how they check the oil level, after tilting it to the max!!
Yes I saw that, but it will still be great for me who hasn't got the space to set up or store anything bigger. If I had I would have probably gone for something much more practical.

All depends what jobs you want to do, for something small and light its a good option.

Yes only simple tasks, at 67 I spend less time under the car. Up until a few years ago I used to be a member of the local RAF Motor Club, but they took the building back and gave away all the lifts etc. I would have thought that with a bit of ingenuity and time you could do just about anything. Well I will let you know how good/bad it is, but I'm only a DIYer. There is a local independent garage in Aylesbury who is an MB Specialist and he does everything on Trolley Jacks. Scary.

how does that work on block paved drives - surely it gets stuck ???

machine mart do your one

if you like jacking

saw this but pricey if you need 4 - picks up each wheel (one might work for maneuvering big bikes)

they have this too - but would have had to park on it - and once in use - game over for any other toys

The Car Lift arrived today. Am I impressed? Yes. It took around 45 minutes to unpack and put together. It could be done a lot quicker but I took my time. It is so well made, far better than the cheaper ones on Ebay, but they only lift half the weight. Yes you are paying a premium for it, but if like me you don't have the space to put a bigger lift, this will be so useful. The only thing that I would add to the lift's frame is some sort of pad to stop the Platforms hitting the frame when flat. I will add a photo of this when it is raised. I used the self adhesive type you get for under furniture. You can tell the quality by the manual, which is a proper book with pictures. Not photo copied sheet. I will post again when I use it in the next few days. You also get a Tall axle stand with it.
