Hi I have a W210 E320,
My one and only key fob was dropped a while back and has been slowly dying, as in i have to be right next to the car for it to work and today stopped working completely.
Not only the doors but for the first time the ignition as well. I replaced the batteries but still neither work. I noticed a rattle and took it apart.
A few bits fell out, one was the top of the oscillator and the other was one of the micro switches. i\ guess they were being held in by the fob body.
I guess I am after the best way forward.
Do I have to go to Mercedes to get new key does anyone know roughly how much this would cost
I am going to have to get the train to work and won't be able to get the car out to them, will they send it to me?
I have heard of companies where you send the key and they reprogram eg. http://www.autokeysquad.com, has anyone used these?
I am also thinking of trying replacing the cracked oscillator in parallel with the 2 above, but the part number is unreadable, does anyone know what it is or has a spare they could read.
Many thanks for your help
