So its a fairly safe assumption that what he does not know about MB (or more specifically, MB problems ) is not worth knowing, And he is not the only one.

Get a proper diagnosis done, could be gear selector too. Does the dash show what gear is selected?
What year car?

I would get it checked on a mb diagnostic, not a generic code reader as never seen a cvt box in a c class.

hi guy's and girls just a quick up date, i have had the car into my local independent merc garage VERY nice guy Glynn dunford could not do enough to help me many thanks to him, His star softwear brought up the same fault codes as above in my other post, showing a solonoid fault, so i had him change both the solonoid and the conductor plate- oil and filter, it made no difference so put the old stuff back in and proceeded to check the wiring all was ok there, so he then looked down the tcm route and the only thing he could find there was it had live power in BUT no power out on PIN38 i think he said (head now batterd as to what next) so i left the car there and had a trip to the main merc dealer they at first could not find the part from the part number on the old TCM , after having another look he came back with a price of £463 for the part and said when i order it i own it cos it comes from germany and coded to my car and if it dont work then thats a chance i have to take, but when the parts man was talking to his guys in germany they think its highly unlikely to be the problem. so its £160 FOR DIAG £463 for the TCM and £105 +vat for the labour and possably a 2 hour job to plug it in (bit over the top me thinks),NOW i see lots of TCM's for sale on the net any where from £25 onwards, is it safe to say do not touch them they will not work,?1 is there somewhere that can check and hopefully repair my TCM also heard the brake light switch can have an effect on all sorts of things 118266411_2592399127667258_5707437034193922070_n.jpg sorry if im hard to understand im not very good writing things up like this.

Buddy find a reputable merc independent who knows how to read a code reader and diagnose. With all respect your mechanic replaced some things which done bugger all.
A good Indy with a proper code reader and understanding wil pinpoint the error immediately.
If you carry on how your are the car will be out of favour with you in no time.

I would not be ordering a module on a whim without it being properly investigated.

MB will have pants down on labour and diag costs
