From what I gathered from speaking to Motorway is that they don't actually buy your car, they auction it on your behalf!?
The bloke I spoke to said that they could not 100% guarantee the price they offered me, it depended on the dealers on the day.
All they seem to do is give an indication of what it will fetch, albeit very accurate.
On the other hand I believe WBAC come up with real money then auction the car themselves later.
Of course, I could be very wrong.
You are correct of course. WBAC buy to make a profit at Auction, they are British Car Auctions after all. With Motorway you effectively cut out the middle man and sell direct to the Retailer which will in fact to the highest bidder. Everybody is a winner, unless you can be @rsed to deal with the tyre kickers and time waster’s yourself which I personally wouldn’t have the patience to do.

They are also now Cazoo - they buy as WBAC then retail as Cazoo

We Want Any Car, which has now merged with someone else, were by far the best when I sold my Mini last year and they come to the house as well for the assessment and offer.

Last week £21,450
Prices seem to be dropping...

Prices might pick up in a couple of months. Everyone is miserable as sin at the moment, sick, and sick of lockdowns, weather, politicians and the depressing news pumped into our homes in general. When the weather picks up and Blow Jo lifts all covid restrictions (assuming it's the buffoon still in power), I would imagine sales will pick up a touch.

....depending on how high utility prices go.

Got a respectable offer from Motorway yesterday on the e-Golf.

Nearly £2k more than I paid for it last May. Tempting to be honest but, unless I decide not to replace it, then somewhat irrelevant as everything else has also gone up proportionately. Having said that, it's not really being used nowadays so it''s certainly something worth thinking about. ~325 miles in nearly 9 months does seem pretty pointless really. I've actually walked further than that...

It's in for service and it's first MoT tomorrow so I'll probably make a decision after that...

The SL63s I have been looking at have gone up in price by circa £8k over the last year from mid £30s to low £40s. No way am I paying that for one, I can afford to wait for prices to drop. I'm in no hurry.

Must admit, with the little use its getting, I'm sorely tempted to sell and move into something more mundane for a while.
I get a valuation for the E63 every month from Motorway and apart from a dip in December, the price has been on the rise for a few months now.
