Key fob not locking/unlocking car

Hi,

First time posting.

As mentioned above, neither of my key fobs are working (they were fine a couple of days ago). I have 2.

I have tried replacing the batteries in one of the keys. Still no luck.

The IR seems to be working (I can see a light through my camera and whilst temperamental the lock/unlock mechanism does work if my key is right against the keyhole). Still won't work from a distance though.

I have checked the fuses and they all seem fine. However someone did mention elsewhere online that the fuse for the antenna and the aam should be checked however I can't see these listed - any idea? In any case I have checked all the fuses and none appear to have blown.

I have also tried resetting the keys but nothing!

Any other ideas?

Have you dropped it?
There is a small coil on the RF side that can easily become detached from the circuit board after a drop.
They can be soldered back in if you’ve a small enough iron (and a magnifying light)

Cheers not droped as far as I know. Will look into it.bit wary as still starts car.

Starting the car is the immobiliser chip which doesn’t require power - that’s read by the inductive loop in the binnacle around the ignition switch.
As long as you don’t lose the chip when you take it apart you should’ve have an issue...

Get some sensor lights... never need to switch them off they turn themselves off with no movement

Got them in garage n stores .put one in d stairs bog really irritates lovely that does !!
Two weeks ago I changed all spots to newer more economic versions..announced they fact that they run at less than half previous.now find lights on all time as so cheap to run can be on all day for her plants!! Think thats got to be a I have a f thing !!!!!!! Cos I never saw that commin..

You’ve already gone beyond my technical ability Arif. Checking the second key and the IR signal on the phone is as far as I would get!

The aerial amp can fall off the rear screen.
