Hello and welcome
I can’t say for definite, just that all the modern Mercedes I’ve had has had one. If you have a read of your manual it will explain the dash warning lights and the brake pad wear sensor.
Be wary as Mercedes dealers (and lots of other garages) will tell you well before they light that you need new brake pads. I always say, why is there a wear sensors? Their response is that it might come on before the next service and I’d have to bring it back in again...
Could be just rusty brakes because it's been sat around awhile, give then some decent usage to clean the discs and take a look through the wheels. You should be able to see the discs and probably the pad thickness (outer pad anyway...)
Thanks anyway and alls now fine and I can relax.
Thanks will do .Cheers.Enjoy your car. They're nice machines.
I believe every modern day car is required to have brake wear warnings on the dash
No to be honest I thought 2011 would have that convenience too... ah well maybe it’s a French thing ?None at the front of EmilysMum's 61 plate Citroen C3 ..... or were you thinking of more modern?

To be fair I’m surprised they have brakes...
I was impressed that there was a stainless clip in the caliper that the brake pads slid against

I did wonder that. Since the car had been off the road for a month or so in a Mercedes dealer (and put through MOT) I assumed maybe they were a bit dirty. Anyway yes may well take them out and check.ThanksThis noise very often occurs on pads that have been cooked, especially cheap ones. I would change them or at least take them out and inspect them.
