New A-Class. I actually like it.

These are starting to hit the UK showrooms now. I've seen a blue one and a black one now !! Looking good.

Can't find a dealer that has the A180 CDI engine - I reckon this is going to be the bestseller as has advantage of economy and low down torque (hopefully !!)

Had three customers in my shop saying they have seen the new A and really like it.
One of them yesterday said it was the first time any Mercedes he has ever really 'desired'.

He is into his cars, he has a 3 series touring for work, a Boxster for fun days and Sundays and the nicest looking E-Type I have ever seen, just been rebuilt at a cost that he will never see back, well not for a long time anyway, it really is perfect and like new.

He has owned Mercs before, and appreciates them, but said he has never 'desired' one before, but he says the A Class has really grabbed him.

Reminds me a bit of a Honda Civic VTEC circa 1993 a Doctor friend of mine used to own. I Just hope the Merc is as reliable is all I would say, and yes, they will sell them by the cart load.

Mercedes-Benz A-Class returns 74.3 mpg
Mercedes-Benz has opened up a whole new chapter in the premium compact segment, with the completely redesigned A-Class being available with CO2 from just 98 g/km.

Although the full model line-up and pricing have been announced, the new A-Class will not be launched until December 2012. The 5 model range offers engine power from 109 to 211bhp, and starts at just £18,945 on the road.

Next Green Car is particularly impressed by the A 180 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY SE diesel six-speed manual model with 109 bhp engine, which emits just 98 gCO2/km and returns 74.3 mpg on the official combined cycle.

Priced at £21,200, it is the first ever model from luxury brand Mercedes to emitted under 100 gCO2/km, meaning it will qualify for zero road tax and exemption from London's congestion charge. The SE trim comes with 16 inch 10-spoke alloy wheels, sports seats, leather steering wheel and many other luxury extras.

The A-Class has been completely redesigned, and has been significantly improved since the original look from when the model was originally launched in 1997. The new styling looks sleek and executive, and sportier than the shorter, more boxy design of the original model.

Other models in the line up are also surprisingly efficient, whilst returning equally impressive performance statistics – it will certainly be a model that Next Green Car hopes to review in the near future.

Interesting first picture-- the A class looks a bit like a "mini me" version of the R class sitting on the transporter.

Just seen them at Harrogate MB. One sport, one AMG. The black interior still does nothing for me.

They also have a CLS shooting brake in the showroom.
