I have just registered membership and I'm looking forward to reading and chatting. One thing someone may be able to help me with; I can connect my iPhone with the command system each time I start the car, the problem is I have to do this each time. My previous cars, Lexus, Volvo would auto connect each time I started the car. I have a BlueTooth thingy in the armrest but removing this makes no difference when I connect. In my phone list, I have a 'convenience' phone, which I cannot delete, is this in some way affecting things?

Hi Dennis, welcome to the forum. I can't help with your problem as I am not a techie but there will be plenty on here that can :)

Thanks Andy, it's a small irritating problem but if anyone has an answer it will save me trying to remember to connect each time I drive the car. Nothing worse than a phone ringing in ones pocket when trying to concentrate on driving.

Hi Dennis and welcome to the forum. The phone should definitely connect automatically each time but I don’t really know anything about the convenience telephony. I’m sure there will be others that can help or perhaps post this as a specific thread on the “Electrics etc” forum.

In the meantime, does this link help?

Thanks Steve, I've had a quick look through that link but it just generalises on what phone and how to connect. I was under the impression that the BlueTooth module fitted in the central armrest was the adapter to connect via Bluetooth. I disconnected this module and the phone still connects through the command system without it. Why is that module there and what is its function if not to connect a mobile phone?

Sorry Dennis but I don't know anything about that. If you get no response from this thread, try a specific post on the Electrics thread sometime and that may get an answer.
