What is peoples opinions on Oil extractors - i.e the ones where you put the plastic tbe down the dipstick hole and it sucks out the oil.
A sealey TP69 looks like a good one - has anyone used one of these?

Also what else can theybe used for on a car?
My car is a 1998 C240 sport - has anyone got the same car and used a extractor on this engine?

2nd is a pressurized brake bleeding kit.

as with mad max above, i too love them, and keep finding new uses for them - like bleeding diesels after work on the fuel system.

I would prefer to remove the sump plug to drain the oil. I am not sure you would remove as much old oil by sucking it through the dipstick tube. Had suction facility at previous dealer but never used it.

they will be fine for an oil change if you don't mind leaving the dirtiest 1/2 litre of oil in the sump, this is the issue.

People have done tests; sucking all the oil out then removing the sump plug and nothing else comes out. You can also siphon the old oil out of the filter housing base.
