It might be worth doing a search on here and on t'other side! I saw one recently where the brakes had 'failed' and it turned out to be the vacuum pump. Not sure of the detail but, if I remember correctly, it lives in the sump along with the oil pump, so is an engine out job to fix.I have a mer E220d yr 2018. AN EML ligt came on, on taking it to the garage, i was told there was an issue with the vaccum pump. Has anyone had this kind of issue?

Hi Ernie,Here is the thread I referred to above.
Ernie
E220d (oil in brake servo) £5600 bill for repairs
This is truly appaling!!!! Terrible service and shocking longevity on parts!!!!!!forums.mercedesclub.org.uk
This is becoming another one of those regular failures MB put into the marketplace from time to time. Stand your ground and demand goodwill. 45k miles is unacceptable for 'the best'.Hi Ernie,
Can just back from a service last Friday, litle yellow engine warning light yesterday ( Tues) , took it back to the garage and the initial assessment is the Vacuum pump is faulty. Car is from Mar 2018, easy life etc... 45k miles.
Garage told me 3 other cars locally with the same issue, problem with parts availability I am warned. Engine has to be removed and re-fitted. 3 days work. Approx 7k quote.
As I am not in warranty, it will be interesting to see the view from MB.
