Hi, i am looking to buy an old mercedes and i am not a fan of the models that came after 2009. I have found a 2002 w211 e270 diesel. The car seems to be in a good condition except for the milage ofcourse. The car has done 400.000km, so i want to know that should i go for it, the car is cheap and nice. And also any high milage mercedes before 2010 would they be a good buy if they are in good condition?

Hello and welcome

If it’s still running well at ~250,000 miles then it’s done very well. I’d want to know that the SBC brakes are all working correctly and that the pump hasn’t just been reset. 270’s tend to suffer from “Black Death” but not so much in the E class, much more common in the ML or Sprinter for some reason,
Not sure if you have clean air zones in Denmark, if you do a 2002 Diesel will cost to drive into them

Welcome!

If the car is very cheap and you don’t intend putting many miles on it why not but you will be faced with most repairs required worth more than the value of the car ie, AC condenser, starter motor, alternator, radiator, injectors etc and those failures may be just around the corner if you forgive the pun.

Hello and welcome

Sounds like an ex taxi though nothing wrong with that, proves MB reliability
