Hello from Sweden!
I have read through a massive bunch of posts both on this forum and others and I'm basically stuck on this problem of mine. Sometimes in the city centre I can have decent radio reception but most often not. And when outside city centre I can't stand the poor signal and turn off the radio. Not nice.
Things I've done this far is I've tested to switch off the antenna amplifier with the method shown in this video and the radio reception with the car in my garage turned immediately worse. Tells me that the amplifier is at least doing something. I've also stripped the trim off of the rear door to visually check the connectors to the rear window heating/antenna routing on the glass and this looks like brand new to my eyes. I have no clue on what to check here since I haven't gotten hold of and wiring diagram or info how to take measurements. I have voltmeters and now how to use them though.
So which should be my next steps on this? Removing the radio head unit and test with a short antenna connected temporarely? Is that even doable? I don't no what the connector looks like behind the unit. If it's the old standard coax this would work but otherwise not. If I'm to test another radio head unit I would need some adapter connectors right?
I would greatly appreciate any input on this! Thanks
