I have been trying very hard not to bother people on the forum about yet another PSE issue BUT I am stumped
Sl350 2006 pump was operating then stopped. Impeller was broken so changed that. Pump worked again but only after the car had run and once left the locks became inoperative.
So I changed the pump. Same thing. The I sent the whole thing away to be refurbed after I was told the impeller wasn't fitted properly, the motor wasn't powerful enough to get the required pressure and one "duo" was blown. I have got the thing back fitted it, took out the 20amp fuse and replaced it too for good measure. Sat in the car turned it on and then off again. went to lock the car nothing however sitting in the car i pressed the dashboard mounted locking button and the doors operated but then i noticed they work working the opposite of what they should i.e. when i pressed the open padlock button the doors locked. This is obviously because something is the wrong way around. The boot doesnt open either. I have charged the accessory battery and tested it it is fine.
The roof operates properly.
is there an electrical plug that may be the wrong way around? Should I drive the car for a while to "let is settle down".
I really don't understand why this has gone the way it has considering that the the thing was OK before the impeller broke up.
Advice happily received

Thanks in advance
Steve

One thing that has become apparent after doing a bit of research on refurbing/repairing these pumps is the tightness of the end screws. The tiniest adjustment of the screws seems to have a massive effect on the power of the pump. You need a pressure gauge to set them up correctly and there is a You Tube showing how this is done. I suspect that those doing repairs simply don't do the necessary testing.
As far as the pump doing the opposite of what it's supposed to do, I wonder whether pipes have been fitted onto the wrong inlet/outlet.

I have seen a couple of videos on Your tube with a very enthusiastic Frenchman enthusing me to Let's go!. To be fair his production and details was very good.
if the tubes on the pump inside the unit were reversed surely that can only be done if they were crossed over?

I also wonder if they have wired the pump with the black wire at the bottom and the red at the top which would change the direction of the motor? I am waiting for a response

Worth double checking your accessory battery again, just because battery condition is a bit of a mystical thing. Check it after it has sat for a few hours at least. Ideally check it after it has sat for a day without use. Just in case. It should only take a moment and it is worth doing if you haven't already double checked it.

Suspect internal connections in pump wrong way around.

Had to change the PSE pump unit in the end. Edinburgh Merc least expensive and then installed by an Indy in Uppingham. Now all works but a hiss from the centre console means I have a leak under there, deep joy.
