That's the one but an MOT may not pick it up (MOT currently cannot measure PM or NOx for example).
DVSA does have equipment that can measure emissions accurately.
It's a little line that could have serious impact for remaps if roadside random checks were ever implemented again.
Probably not for general remaps unless the mapped out emission control devices like DPF or EGR

And how does removing the cats and fitting an X pipe on a V8 5 Litre feature in respect for both construction and use and also for emissions? It would pass CO2 but how much NOx and other nasties does that push out? Would it be morally wrong to drive it like that or possibly be hypocritical to comment on others that didn't want to do the diesel software update? Hmm, thinking back, didn't Malcolm do that to his SL500.......

Malcolm fitted a x-pipe but as far as I'm aware didn't remove secondary cats though someone previous to him may have. The car still has primary cats and still passes MOTs for CO and HC. No reason to believe NOx would be any different as the secondary cats are so far downstream they are useless unless the car is being hammered (they don't get hot enough to function - a problem with the standard 129 when going for MOTs).
Last MOT showed virtually no measurable emissions (and petrol MOTs actually measure the gas components not just how thick the smoke is).
I actually don't like Malcolm's exhaust system and plan to remove the horrible X-pipe he fitted and refit secondary sports cats.
Even as is it's cleaner than a Euro 4 diesel and probably most Euro 5s that haven't had the fix applied.

Here's the thread which suggests no cats - I presume he means secondary cats.... The secondary cats must do something or why fit them? MOT's measure HC's and CO2 but not NOx on petrols as far as I remember?

This thread confirms he had the secondary cats removed..I won't mention your comment on this thread..

My euro 5 is not on recall and won't be going anywhere a dealer...
