Rear camera cover remains open

My reverse camera remains open . When I am trying to go backwards reverse camera is off although the cap remains open . Any suggestions?

Unfortunately nothing , Still cover remains open . When in reverse the camera doesn't show or there are some instances that show for couple of seconds

I think the issue started when I press open camera cover from settings

On my car there's an option within the Vehicle Menu to manually open the reversing camera cover so that the lens can be cleaned. In theory this should automatically close after a set period of time or if the ignition is cycled.
Separately there's an option to disable the reversing camera being automatically activated when selecting reverse.
My car also has a console button, not visible from my normal seating position, to manually activate the camera.

According to the handbook if my reversing camera is not-functional due to some error then a camera symbol with a slash through it will appear on screen.

Have you tried manually triggering the opening process again?

It does seem to me that something is blocking the closing/opening of the cover or it has been forced and the mechanism is misaligned or damaged.

I would suspect that to access it you will need to remove the interior trim to the boot panel.
