The second generation key as supplied with batteries and metal blade weighs in at 30g and the first generation chrome key 43g, so 13g difference.
A £1 coin together with a 1p weighs 13g.
The difference in the new plastic one can only be with the brass sides and top.
With the first and second generation key, the only part that ever wore out were the press button area's that eventually split.
The chrome version does feel nicer to the touch to me, button working wise no difference between them.
Interesting to know those weights, the brass sides definitely made it feel stronger and meatier to me when I held the one they showed me.
I guess I kind of feel like they're going backwards with the quality with this new all plastic version.
