My Red B Class W246 is almost a year old and at the weekend got my first flat, dirty great nail in it.
Went to Kwik Fit - they wouldn't touch because they are not allowed apparently even though the nail was dead centre!!
Tried indie around the corner, they were only too happy to help. £10.00 well spent.
Anybody else experienced the same thing?

From the AA website -

"The construction of run-flat tyres can make it difficult for the repairer to identify any secondary damage. This means that even though Run-flat repair kits are available to the trade, many repairers may be reluctant or simply refuse to repair a puncture in a run-flat tyre."

ROSPA website -

"If a run-flat tyre has been used without internal pressure, then damage can occur to the tyre. The damage may be internal and is not always visible. run-flat tyres that have been used whilst deflated should always be replaced, rather than repaired, if they have suffered damage."

I've had repairs done on mine but many places are reluctant to do so. If the car hasn't been driven far or on zero pressure then I can't see a problem with it. My tyres are around £800 each so I don't want to keep changing them if I don't have to.

I've used KF in the past...but I wanted an oil change last week end...they didn't have 5w35 in stock..ok I said, I'll have 0w40 (because that's what I got last time). No, they said...they will not put in anything other than what the computer says is correct for the car!!

They are getting sticky.

Well I suppose thats better than them throwing any oil in just because they have it in stock, and as for the tyres seems they just following the rules.

I guess if they didn't we could moan at them :D

i wouldnt take my merc anywhere near KF ! once a runflat has been 'used' for its purpose , the tyre is effectivily shot , the carbon fibre in the wall construction is not designed for re-use , so replacement is the safest option but obviously if you have a nail in the tyre but it has not deflated , there should be no problem with repairing said tyre OR buy 2 normal tyres across that axle and save all the hassle RF tyes bring , oh and enjoy better ride quality , less road noise too

Read the first post, KF would NOT repair the ROF tyre......it was another tyre dealer that repaired it.
Mind you I wouldn't take anything to KF......not even my wheel barrow!
