Sat nav update

I want to update my 2015 E220 sat nav and Mercedes quoted me £150 for the licence and 90 minutes labour to poke a disk into my car.
Anybody managed to buy an update cheaper from somewhere that worked?

They are expensive for what they are, but I would advise "biting the bullet" and buying genuine updates. Think mine was £250 for the update-stick and the code. Installed it myself in about an hour (mostly of sitting and waiting).

Very expensive for what they are & in theory a cost every year. No camera warning, slow live traffic updates, & slow to calculate. I have not updated either of ours.
We use Waze in the SLC250d on CarPlay, & TomTom 5200 Live in the E class. Waze is free, the 5200 cost £200 4 years ago. four free worldwide map updates a year, free live traffic & speed cameras. Downloaded USA maps for free 2 years ago worked perfectly.

Depending on which dealer you use, the cost to update the map does appear to vary.
I paid £99 at MB Poole when the car was serviced in Sept last year. You are paying for the Pin# which is the licence and the map is uploaded via an SD card.
You can find genuine offers on ebay cheaper than main dealers.

Have a B200 2013, and am looking to get the SatNav working for the first time. Thinking of TomTom.
How easy is it to set up from scratch? Likely cost if can be done via DIY?
