So £500 from an Mercedes independent specialist for a B service with no extras like fuel filter, air filter , brake fluid change ?
Where in London are you ?

You can call a mercedes dealer and tell them you want to book your car in. They ask a few questions and give you the price.

You can also go online to Mercedes site ans create an online booking - this will also tell you what needs doing.

An good indy will be cheaper of course, but that depends to the extend what needs doing.

seems to be an expensive oil change to me .... my ML is having a B next week - 66k miles - at a local respected indie, I didn't ask how much when I booked it in, but I'd be very surprised if it was anything like £500+ going off the last service he did.

If that’s Williams Mercedes Independent Specialist they are very good and give a digital stamp, if the car still has warranty he is authorised service place so you wouldn’t even loose your warranty

If it’s not that place you should have a look ats it’s very close to you

Did they even change the pollen filter for that price?

It's impossible to compare pricing based on someone saying "B Service" as, basically it's an oil and filter change, and some checks. Normally the pollen filter is done at the same time and randomly it seems the key batteries come up. But brake fluid, fuel and air filter may also be required depending on when last changed. The dealer may have added £50 for courtesy car or collection. I'm assuming, based on the price the OP stated, that his car isn't calling for an ATF change otherwise the quote would be nearer a grand.

Of course at a dealer they'll no doubt want to change all the pads and discs too!

The receipt says he has, so I assume that he did. I don't need to pay someone to change batteries in a key fob for me or top up screen wash etc

And coincidently I asked about ATF changes. Maybe there is a digital service record for my car that says it had an ATF at 37k but I've not actually seen it. The car now has 67k on the odometer & as the car does a reasonable amount of towing a heavy caravan I asked about ATF changes. Assuming the old style red fluid, his guess would be around £240 .... so still less than the £500 (MOT allowed for) quoted. Somewhat more for the more expensive later oil

MB quoted me for front discs & pads not long after I'd bought the car (obviously saw an opportunity to upsell despite the car having only just been sold by AN Other MB dealer just weeks before hand) ... they wanted £550!

Sorry - I was thinking the OP's price was from a dealer.

Your indie is cheaper than mine though!
