Yeah yeah, that old chestnut! "It was like that when I found it Guv" :p

ok blo*dy Vectra died again this morning - totally this time though, not even any lights on the dash. Different nice AA man came out today and I would like to point out the fault with the car was nothing to do with me leaving lights on. Turns out there is a known fault with the information system (the computer thingy in the middle of the dash) where it constantly consumes about 1.5 amps even when everything is turned off. This means if you don't drive the car for more than about 24hrs it completely kills the battery.

So not my fault.....although it is my luck.

Still got my Merc back now so things can only get better.....right?

:D I do have a bike actually, been riding it quite a lot recently. Had problems with the gears (it has 21 of them but I only ever seem to use about 3). I'm sure if I walked anywhere I'd put my knee out, or a hip, or maybe an ankle......I think Howard Hughes had the right idea

Funny world, I have had the odd TV that would go wrong every week with one of my customers like Omni, sell it to someone else and 5 years down the line still running perfectly.

No, its just one of the odd things or times, what I did not say before was that the guy with the troublesome set, never had any problems with his replacement.

As all of your problems are going to go away, I do hope that you stay active on the forum.

certainly will. I think I'm addicted now! There are some great people here and even if I sell the Merc I'd still hang around. I must say, driving the car home from TP today it just felt sooooo nice compared to the Vectra.

I do have one technical question though Malcolm. I did notice that when I pulled up at lights the car idled really badly. I went down to about 300rpm and the car vibrated quite badly, like it was going to stall. It then jumped up to about 1000rpm for about 5 seconds and then back down to about 500rpm and was lovely and smooth. It did this twice.

At the moment I am giving it the benefit of the doubt to see if it sorts itself out.

Give it a couple of days to settle in, and it should settle down, as it did when the O2 sensor first became contaminated

AT LAST, after weeks of backwards and forwards, will they wont they from MB and they have agreed to replace and fit a new SBC unit free of charge as the fault actually reads out "exceeds usuable life"
On a top of the range car thats only done 60k this is unacceptable as the service manager put it was music to my ears.

Waiting for a date to get it in :p :p :p :p:p

Theres a lovely 2003-onwards sbc pump system here only been out the box once for one of you lucky sbc owners call it £250 ;)
