Hey guys,

I hope you're all well. I own a 68 reg c200 coupe and I have a few electrical questions please.

1- The infotainment system is perfect so far, but I feel like google maps is better than the car's sat nav as it seems to give me shorter routes which is why I prefer to use Android auto. It works perfectly fine when the car is at full stop, but when the car is moving the app constantly lags, is very slow and restarts on its own. Is it a problem with the phone? The car? Or the cable? And I can't control Android auto using the touch paid of the steering wheel buttons, is that OK?

2- I've recently bought a cheap front and rear dash cam from eBay which connects to the cigarette lighter port. I rang Halfords and they said they only fit theirs. I want it to be fitted by a specialist as I am not very experienced in car electronics (they don't teach that in med school unfortunately lol) and certainly do not want to damage the car by any chance. Also, I want to change the way it connects as I want cables to be as least visible and connecting through the lighter port would mean that the cuo holder compartment has to stay open at all times. Do you have any recommendations for a DIY or an auto shop that can do it around Yorkshire?

3- Could taking the car to a local car wash damage the sensors? I've noticed that they have become oversensitive and beep to things they wouldn't beep to before like the pavement.

Thank you very much in advance.

Hello and welcome,

If they’re using 21ltr/min pressure washer then yes if there’s any damage then water will enter the sensor and cause it to error.

Thanks buddy I'll ask them, what could be the solution?

Clean them first, they can get confused with flies and dirt.
