Sorry if I have posted in wrong place. I have a CLC and my air con smells when on. I have let off one of those air con 'bombs' but hasn't made much difference. I don't think it needs re-gassing as the air comes out fairly cold, any suggestions please?

your pollen/ac filters may well be old and holding something leading to musky smell.
When were they last changed.
Get original or the top end MANN ones.

Personally I’d find an a/c specialist and let them work at it. I used Red Dragon Air Con in South Wales when I had a similar issue, can’t remember the total cost, but I’m confident it was a lot cheaper and more effective than taking it to an MB dealer would have been. There’ll be a company somewhere near you that does the same thing. I think they replaced a filter, did a re-gas, and pumped something through the system to clear the pipes.

Have had no problems since. Think the total came to about £130.

When fixed use it all the time, no fogging in winter.
2 cars in 22 years have done nothing to ACs.

if the pollen filter is blocked with gunge, no amount of smelly things will work.
Change the filter, its a cheap item, then look for something else

Have you checked under the passenger front carpet for moisture? Could be a wet filter caused by blocked drains

Replace the filter with a MANN Frescious Filter
