Your key has been dropped and the transponder coil has snapped,,I will do what I can with it.

People should not put huge bunches of key on the same ring as the car key, if dropped they can break the components through the sheer weight of the metal,,it does not do the ignition switches any good either

Cheeky sod. Makes you wonder about some people...

Read this post for the first time today - and am a bit annoyed with a couple of people as a result - as I'm the person you're talking about.

Simple reason - the second key had not arrived - and still has not. I PM'd Malcolm end of the week to explain - I've had a few things take 10 days to arrive by post, others arrive next day, no idea why. Your post was only a couple of days after Malcolm was to post the second key back to me, so your comments are a bit premature.

I can empathise with that - people keep telling me that, with my advancing age (getting far too close to the bus pass!!) the second thing that goes is the memory - now what the **** was the first???

Your most gracious apology is, of course, accepted.

Get an ebay key and transfer the coil?

I do do that,,but as most times it does get a little expensive, as 9 times out of 10 it is the coil that has fallen off. there are so far 9 versions that you cannot identify from the outside, it still worth doing when I can
