Hi All, I was just wondering if anyone has fitted an aftermarket subwoofer and amp in an E Class Saloon 2002 or earlier?
I want to get one but I am not sure if it will be a worthwhile exercise and whether it will be heard in the car as the fuel tank is in right behind the seats and also there is a lot of sound proofing etc.

    Any thought?

    Thank you!

I have a 15" sub in my boot (apart form when I need to carry a lot of tools ) and it sounds great, but I have an estate. You can get slimline Kenwood subs that fit beneath you seat if you just want to add a bit of weight to your music. I also have an Alpine digital amp to run the speakers. Sounds ok but want to upgrade the speakers next. You should still be able to achieve reasonable results with a decent sub in the boot. Alpine type X subs look good.
