An old B-Class.
It was in central Bradford the standard of driving takes some believing - road “quad” bikes going through red lights pulling wheelies and this muppet changing lanes like he’s playing frogger to try and gain a place or two...

Much like driving in some other countries?

E 500
I have just returned to the forum after quite a while, some years in fact however some thing never really change. It's a bit like meeting an old friend after a long time and then you just start a conversation as though you had seen them yesterday not 20 years ago, so I thought I would stick my oar in the water.

My car is a DEBADGED E500 with a personal plate that spells my name if you don't look too hard. it was a 50th birthday present so as I will be turning 70 in afew weeks so I've just stuck with it, It's been on all the E classes and 1 other in the last 20 years. Being a W 211 it is now ageable by it's shape but not it's condition. This is my fourth E Class 2 W210's and 2 W211's. It's a bit like that Ford Escort mentioned in a earlier post.

I was considering changing it for something else, but what would I want? and what would it cost? to come even close in out and out performance, comfort and class? It also fits in the garage, just.

I have just taken the 18" AMG Alloys off and gone back to 17". Other than a weeping front caliper last year and more recently a secondary air pump it's been very cheap to run in the greater scheme of things, I'm a low mileage driver these days so a service every 2 years makes it a very nice vehicle for all that I need. I was quoted £950 for the secondary air pump work, that would have hurt so I did what all engineers do, I sourced a pump and replaced it myself and saved £800.

Suits the car, as it's ugly too :alien:

I must admit I don't dislike looks of the the Insignia at all. My ex-son in Law had one a few years ago and it drove quite nicely. :)

I too have to admit, deep deep down I kind of like them too, neighbour had the SRi which I borrowed to go and get the new alternator for the 55, quite impressed with it though it had terrible turbo lag.

The Cavalier was a lot better car than it's successor that's for sure :) Particularly the 16v's :)

I hink Vauxhall adopted a rubber chassis for the awful Vectra
