Are you going to sell it on here? You might want to big it up a bit more.
Seriously, it's good to hear a real life opinion. Things will have to move on significantly before I consider any form of leccy car.
Sorry you hate it so much.:(:(

I've just read the whole thread and it's great that you are happy. Sometimes there is only so much advice you take before making your own decision. Post up some pics.
I've got the C350 CDI, and the DPF was something that I worried about as I could potentially do a lot of short journeys. It's done two regens that I am aware of, and you cannot miss them! If you have cold hands stick them under the front doors.
We go away now again on short UK breaks and to visit family so I am sure this is all the car requires. And if needed we use the wifes 1.3 petrol to potter around town. I even leave the car on the drive mon-thu sometimes.
With regards to MPG, if I ever drive anywhere for work, even to the office I can only claim back 13p per mile, so with current prices I would need to return 45-46mpg, this I might struggle to do, but it's not the end of the world as I have no commuting costs.

Good luck with the new car.

Hmmm, did I jump just in time?

I noticed this referenced on Fifth Gear so thought I'd check my old C350 CDI and notice it would be hit (fairly obvious as a Euro5 diesel). I guess it's not a problem unless you actually drive into affected cities, although I know Southampton has major pollution problems so it's only a matter of time before they impose similar. Although I suspect it may hit the values of older diesels. Having said which any extra depreciation on my old car will be as nothing to that on the newer one!
I sort of had to change car as I needed the through load facility and suspect going hybrid was the right choice. As best I can see you can't actually get a newish performance MB diesel now.
(For some reason I've not been receiving notifications on this thread hence my silence.)

2018 E Class E350e plug in hybrid
I don't really want to go back to a car with 7.4s 0-60 etc. acceleration, I rather like a 0-60 of sub 6 secs. I'd want to avoid a diesel for DPF reasons as above and MB don't really seem to have any other options. If there was a C350 petrol than I'd be considering that for sure.
I had a C350e from new - got a great residual after 2.5 years of totally trouble free driving - averaged 45mpg with a lot of motorway driving. I now have a E350e and that has averaged 46 mpg over 8k - one tip for you to increase the electric range is to start the journey in E Save and let the engine warm the car (or cool it) initially and then switch to Hybrid - the heater, back screen, heated seats or air con take a lot off the battery.

I never used the Eco setting on the C350e but now using it on the E I noticed a great improvement on the range due to the regenerative breaking - I am no slouch nor do I drive to achieve economy !

With the hybrid element being warranted for 6 years I wouldn’t be too concerned about excess cost.

When you collect it ensure it has had the update for the external temperature - not all C350e’s have had it - they tried 3 times to install it on mine ! It isn’t displayed all the time, you have to select the speedo option I think.

On the other forum they have a C350e thread with over 4,000 posts so there is nothing about the C350e that isn’t covered.

I’m sure you love the car and remember - the instant torque from the electric motor applies to reverse as well as going forward !

Cheers for that.

I diagnosed my car to have a dpf fault. Took it to mbs and the dpf pressure sensor had failed, so the last regen was 22,000km ago !! It was 400% full. they replaced the sensor, took it for a 1/2 hr spin and was all sorted!
Would say these mb dpf,s are pretty robust.
A friend has a skoda fabia, does around 15k per year and has all sorts of dpf problems, twice skoda claimed it needed replacing at £1400 . She now drives around doing a lot higher rpm than usual, and has never had a dpf problem since.
Im now using that strategy by using sports setting and once warm much more brisk acceleration..
It,s actually a lot more fun and time will tell if that keeps my dpf clean !
The car has 153k on it, has regenerated 44 times so its every 3500 miles it has regen (until the sensor died)

I've noticed that my car has done a regen just after 15 miles when doing local town driving before.
