Iv just had brake pads done too! P/x most garages won’t touch it as to old + to much Milage (5yrs 87k diesel) hardly either! One garage offered 6.5k was bought for 13k off merc 28months ago, the trade is a bad one imo

I'd vote to swap it; you'd know it was good so wouldn't be in such a hurry to get shut and it's one less thing for prospective buyer to knock the price down with.

Or a potential buyers says when was the cambelt changd, then he says well knock me 300 quid off. You can give them wiggle room
