Its good if the key is turning more than it did, keep at it with the wiggling… in both directions.

It’s either the key or plan B, for refuelling you may be forced to cut the flap. You can get a replacement in a scrap yard in your colour for probably £10 or £20.

Use a Dremel, Google… http://www.google.com/search?q=drem...g&biw=1389&bih=841&sei=_1v5T9uuFITPhAe1oKGaCA … or any garage will cut it open for you in 10 minutes .

Your lock must be different design to the one I have mentioned, you now no alternative but to use Plan B.
Double check all fuses in the engine bay, just in case something has been overlooked.

UPDATE 3: Success!! :)

I have gained entry to the boot, via the 'last ditch' method, checked all fuses which seem to be intacted. However, whilst I am happy to now have access to both the boot and the fuel cap, I am still puzzled as to what realisically caused this issue??

The boot lock, seems to function perfectly fine once the lock is stripped back, and re-assembled, however, when fitted back into the boot, it still will not engage or disengage on the key. I am now of the belief that I dont have the correct blade for the boot barrell, both electronic keys are perfectly fine, however, only one blade will actually undo the drivers door, previously assumed the other blade, by default must open the boot, but it doesnt?!

The fuel cap was easier to resolve that the boot issue, whilst the central locking was down, a little bit of work with a pair of thin bladed screwdrivers and I managed to disengage the pin to manually open the lock. (And add in some much needed go-go juice)

Final issue is for some reason since gaining entry to the vehicle and giving it a good run, whenever it is left longer than 10 minutes the alarm goes off!?!?!? I have now removed fuse 7 (5Amp) from the boot which seems to have silenced the horn element, however lights still flash. Also tried removing fuse 4 (30 Amp), but nothing seemed to actually change, or be affected. The guide I had suggested it controlled rear windows, but it dosnt impact on them, so what does fuse 4 actually cover? (These are the fuses in the boot)

Again checked all fuses (with the exception of fuse 7), windows, rear heated, and doors, all seem fine, I even covered the pillar sensors last night with pvc tape but even this has failed to remove the fault. I am aware on later models you can disengage the alarm completely by inserting the electronic key, and using a combination of presses on the lock and unlock buttons, but not sure what this combination is, can anyone advise?

Other than that car is running perfectly fine, without any issues, so sincere thanks to all that have assisted with tips and advise. No idea what on earth I am going to do with the 15 Litres of WD40 I now have left!! LOL

There is an emergency release handle in the boot, see picture below.
Are both key blades identical when put side by side?
Can you put up some pictures of the boot lock, front and back and top, you will need to unbolt it from the car?
How many buttons on the remotes?
Do each of the buttons pass the remote fob test below?

Hi, I have encountered a significant issue with my much loved 202. It looks like I have blown a fuse, which controls the central locking and boot. The guidance I have had is that the blown fuse is in the boot, which will not open either by the fob, key, or console switch.
I have pumped litres of WD40 into the lock, and to no avail, I can open the drivers door on the blade, and the vehicle will start ok.
Does anyone have a work round to open the boot, assuming the there must be away short of either removing rear seats or drilling the lock?
Help! - Thanks in advance

Hey Stevie.

You posted this in 2012 and now were in 2016 and i'm having the same issue with my car... I have a 2000 c180 the boot was opening via the FOB on the key but now it wont.

The car starts and runs well...so it's not the battery and even the trunk/boot release button in the center console won't open it either.

I know it's alot of reading but how did you eventually get the boot to open ?

Thanks,
Kerry...
