W205 C200 Sport. 2015 (32,660 miles). Since my wife has had a spinal operation she finds that the ride is too hard. Is it possible to soften it up by replacing springs and shocks, one or both? Has anyone had any experience in this? Thanks in hopeful anticipation, Dave

if its a sport model then you can drop back to a comfort spec set up and fit some smaller alloys so you have more tyre OR just get a car with a more comfortable ride

Hi Wighty, 17" with 225/50 R17 94 W tyres, Dave
That’s not a bad profile, drop the pressures a bit and it should soften the ride up for you.

As above , try 32 all round as a pressure .Otherwise 16” wheels (eBay) may be a cheaper option than suspension changes , assuming they fit

MBS Southampton have been looking into the problem and can replace the shocks but at the moment have said "....unfortunately Mercedes weren't too helpful in obtaining info regarding comfort springs that would fit your car"

As for changing car Bembo449, I have looked at that but the price I'd get for it is laughable considering it's condition and mileage plus I love it as it is but thanks for your input.

Me -2019 GLC 350 coupe AMG line. Mrs- 1.2 vauxhall Corsa 2021 ,orange with a black roof. .
I don't think your wife will find solace of any kind sitting in or on anything at the moment. Having had spinal surgery myself .its more of a healing required not altering the car. You could try a lumbar cushion of sorts . My c250 seats were aimed at 30 year olds tbh. My new e350 has armchair seats ,much much better.
