Hi All
This is my first post on this forum and I am really hoping somebody will be able to help with this really strange problem.
My 2002 E320 has the APS50 + 6CD changer and the inbuilt phone system (now with Viseo fitted) all of which are fully functioning, except for the motorised control panel in front of the CD changer. None of the switches on the panel are active and it does not lift up to give access to the CD changer unit behind. For a while operation was intermittent - fine one day, then dead for a few days and then back to life. Unfortunately now it has packed up completely.
To me this has all the hallmarks of a loose connector finally coming adrift but I haven't found anything yet. I have tried to take the whole unit out to inspect the wiring behind but couldn't free the fibre connector beneath the CD changer, and didn't want to force it.
My local dealer has suggested that it's the CD changer that is faulty but that just doesn't sound right as the panel is there whether the changer is fitted or not.
Has anyone any clues as to what might be wrong?
Thanks in advance.
Paul
