One regular would turn up every day (it amazed me how some punters made the casino a part of their life) in an aging 560SEC, he chained smoked cigars so the windows were all a weird colour, anyway yes in the wet going around a bend a dab too much throttle and that back end was away!Mine is... although power slide is more appropriate...
Spend the money you’ll never regret it!
Oh I regret it already have owned this C200 for just over 5 weeks and when it goes it's nice to drive however can't trust it to actually get anywhere as it's more than likely to leave one stranded and it's done it twice already now cannot even move it from the driveway/yard a it won't engage any gears and it's been like this for 9 days now. Waiting for an expensive refurbished front SAM module that hopefully "may" fix it but who knows as more and more issues keep cropping up plus it's like this Sequential semi automatic gearbox (716.6) it has is a big secret as cannot seem to find much information on it other than some dealer blurb so have put off buying it a new battery which it needs and it currently has the new slightly lower spec (74ah 640A) one that was purchased for the Chimeara fitted which starts it at least, just went and tried it again it's currently +2 degrees and she fired up OK but no gears, did get the "Tramiss Visit Workshop" message this time and not seen that is a couple of days.
Oh yes definitely pre owned ........................ it's a 2003 and came into the country from Austria we had to get it registered here which was done on the 9th left the KAT offices and test center and had to go the the BG Toll offices to get the vignette changed to the new registration number, it was in temp transit plates, came out started it only to find no gears. After mucking about even removing the earth cable for a while to see if that would reset things and was about to get a garage out to tow it when it suddenly decided to select the gears so despite having other errands in the city to do drove it home carefully all the time praying it didn't strand me again. That was Tuesday then on Sunday when I drove it into the village center to meet the buyer for my Discovery TD5 it did it again. Finally got it to move late that afternoon and it's been stuck on the drive ever since. We know that the front SAM module has problems as it' is why the windscreen washers do not work signal gets to SAM from switch but then goes no further, Wipers work sometimes and intermittent well they go constantly with no pause. George with his Star diagnostics got us the part number and managed to find a company in Germany that had some refurbished units. No cheap but at least have some warranty unlike used from a breakers yard and George said the SAM currently on the car is from a breakers as it has the ID makings used by some breakers. So sorry that is happening to you man! Maybe you got a lemon? Was it preowned? I’ve had many Mercedes and the only one that even had anything close to a bad transmission is the linkage on my 2005 clk320 let go once that’s the most of the issues I’ve had and I’ve had multiple Mercedes since I got outta high school in 2007! I wish you better luck with Mercedes you’ll love it once whatever bug it has is worked out! Mike, Toronto

I tend to keep cars, especially ones I like, for years only looked for a car as cannot get Mother into the Land Rover Discovery now due to her infirm health and having lost my 2002 Rover 75 CDT Automatic in a nasty collision back in 2021 so was actually looking for a nice Rover 75 to replace it and found one only for it to be withdrawn for sale by the dealer as it required a sensor to be replaced and they had to order it in and it took longer that they expected to arrive now sods law struck as the day after I bought this Merc that Rover popped up on the listings again and it's still for sale as of this morning, yes I checked, the Rover is a 2003 2 litre V6 (KV6) 150 hp manual variant would have preferred to 2.5 V6 and Auto but it is what it is. Had a 2000 Rover 2/5 V6 auto as my first Rover back in the England before replacing it with the 2.0 Litre CDT which was remapped to 160 bhp with ooodles of torque for towing a trailer that we brought out here from England so I know Rover 75's but I don't know Mercedes.
Rover was the original company and started by actually making motor cycles before moving onto cars and Rover was an upmarket brand the government used Rover P5B saloons and Coupes these used the Rover 3.5l V8 all alloy engine that was based on the 215 Buick lump. Land Rover was a division of Rover before being split off Rover later was swallowed up by British Leyland then even later become MG-Rover the 75 was made under the MG-Rover brand which was actually owned by BMW during the 75's design which is why they have the M47 diesel engine and BMW Z axle rear suspension, brakes and alarm systems. The M47 supplied to MG-Rover was a detuned version only giving 113 bhp the 75 and the MG ZT version are FWD and not RWD despite having the BMW rear suspension the 75/ZT uses a JATCO 5 speed auto box with the M7 mounted transverse. We’ll hope it treats you better in the long run I’ve had 36 Mercedes and love them all! Also when you are saying rovers I believe that is not a Land Rover in England they have a different brand called rovers correct?

My C200 was advertised as having 230,000km and when I test drove it the LCD screen show time and distance since last start and was in German when I got the screen into English we discovered it actually had 447,300km on it the dealer refused to take the car back despite it being illegal to do so. That left me trying to find an advocate that will help prepare a case for court to get it sorted we actually took the car back and the dealer got quite aggressive about it.That was a long time ago, more recently I had a 2006 Range Rover HSE and a 2019 Range Rover HSE and they were wonderful! These days I only have a couple Mercedes floating around! A 2007 s550 and a 2006 r350
I just recently sold my 2005 Mercedes clk I loved that car to death! I got it five years ago at least with 47k on it , fast forward 4 months ago cried when I sold it but it had 264,000k lol!

The Land Rover has been pretty trouble free needed a clutch when I bought it then later the U/J's on the cardon front prop shaft seized up (lack of greasing by previous owners in Italy) so got them fitted after I bought them as have no vice or press. The front left brake caliper siezed so got a new one with a pair of discs and set of pads, ball joint on drag link for steering developed play, was cheaper to buy complete assembly than buy the ball joint!!!, so fitted that. Needed a couple of rear drop links for it's annual test oh and a pair of wiper blades. this is since Sept 2017 just had engine oil and filters changed it's on 227,300km.

Just checked and my refurbished front SAM unit is being delivered tomorrow (Friday) around 17;00 so hopefully will have a drivable C200 once it's installed of course.
