Done nothing nice with the car , just been driving backwards and forwards to DIY places with the roof-rack on getting the car dirty .
The chain of events leading to this started before Christmas with a leaking garage roof , which I replaced in the New Year , fortunately in some decent dry weather .
I then noticed the summerhouse roof was leaking , so I moved the contents into the shed , to notice that the shed roof is also leaking  .
So the project continues , but the summerhouse I built 20 years ago needs a new base as well , so full dismantle is ongoing .
Must schedule the next series of leaks for the summer months :D

New set of rear tyres. RS3's no longer available in my size, RS5's not available til end of March at earliest. Went for some Nexens as budget doesn't allow going dearer than the rainsports.
Although the RS3's were fine, they only lasted 10 000 miles and that was without hooning it. I hope I'll get more ware this time. The Check ditchfinders it came with lasted 15 000 or more. I couldn't wait as they were well below the limit in the centre. Since noticing this wear pattern last year I've been running them a bit softer to spread the wear.

Just replaced the rubber pedals with new metal ones, AMG style (short of since are cheap eBay ones).

Quick question too, how I can support the black boot cover of the steering column? It keeps dropping down and cannot stay in an upper position to seal the steering column (check it's height position in two pictures)
Is there a grommet or clip that I am somehow missing?
Thanks and hopefully I don't break any rule for asking under this section/thread.

How difficult was it to remove the old rubber covers and install the new shiny ones? I have the same covers sitting on my desk (for over a month now!) but think it may be too awkward for me to crawl into the footwell and install them!

Its very easy, I did the same "upgrade" on my ML. All you need is a little lubrication on the rubber

Little roof down trip in the CLK to sunny Aldeburgh , a few miles walk along the beach and fish and chips in the High Street :D

Don't know what the temperature was at Aldeburgh to-day but it was 14° here, wish I was there with you, we like Aldeburgh a lot. Best Fish and Chips in the world at the 'Galleon' in the high street, I am a bit envious of you :)

It's 27 miles from us, so its about 45/50 minutes on a traffic free day. We spend a lot more time in Southwold though because that is a mere 20 minutes away :)

That (and my COPD) is the reason I'm reluctant to try - I have a long history of lower back problems, L5S2 disc buggered! Maybe I'll give the parking brake pedal a try (once it's a bit warmer outside, car lives on the driveway).

That's true. And move the driver's seat all the way back.
I also found handy for this job, a plastic trim tool in few "corner" spots where things were tidy. And my mobile's camera to have an extra look at the back of the pedal.
Shouldn't take you more than 10' and this is with the cleaning of the area for the pictures :)
