Changed the rear door speakers on the 210 as the right side one was knackered.
Bought some Ground Zero Iridium 130cm speakers and it's made a noticeable improvement.

Removed the shocks off our R129 today I think they’re toast, I can push the shaft down with little effort...

Dodgy starter motor???

Most likely the battery, this morning the car was slow too crank, 10.6 volts. It 11 years old and I remember this very battery failed the day after I bought the car. It read about 3 volts. I charged it up and it's been okay since a few weeks ago.

Loaded the SLK onto the lorry so I could drop the lorry off to have the timing chain replaced, hopefully that'll stop it going into safe mode

Got the SLK out of her garage for the first time saince early January, took wife to church then after collecting her went for a 1 1/2 hour country drive roof down, lovely. Only downer (which I have to check) is that the front NS tyre looked low, so while wife was in church I ran home, tyre was at 11.5psi instead of 32psi, and it's a pretty new GY about 1 year old, so have to get that checked. Little cordless tyre pump did an excellent job getting the tyre back to pressure, so that's now in the boot instead of the house! I'd almost forgotttten how addictive the sound of the V6 is when the right foot gets a little heavy - wonderful sound!!

You know you’ve an electric pump in the boot already...

Yes I know, used it to inflate the spare the time the rear wheel fell off! Only place to plug it in is passenger footwell which means engine on otherwise it's dead, it took forever to get the packaway spare to 40psi, should probably have let it continue to 50psi as only 1 side of the tyre was fully extended, the other was not - but we were freezing! Should really get the damned tyre back out again and connect it to my proper compressor, see if it will fully inflate - but question then becomes can I deflate it to get it back in the car properly!

I’ve a twin cylinder 12v compressor behind my passenger seat. It connects to the 12v post under the bonnet as it pulls too much for the 12v socket in the footwell.
