My R Class can match your 250 SLK if I'm nice to it!

I don't think the 250cdi is as economical as it says on the tin.......I can manage to record 50.1 on a 21 mile journey in the early hours at 48mph but normally it's around 47mpg on the same journey during the day, but combined its 42.1 which seems to be constant. On a long journey out of town we will be lucky to see 47mpg on a 154 mile trip. That is in eco mode as well. This SLK is lighter than all the other because it doesn't have the usual extras. But it goes like stink........:D
The Money Pit can see 44mpg on a long journey

Thats a bit better than the R then...
The R is showing a 2000 mile average of just under 30mpg but in a run can get up to 41 if I drive like Miss Daisy. More often I get 37-39 on a run. Not bad really for such a big lump with a big diesel.

Not so much what I did to it but what it did to me!
Had the 230 boot lid drop on my head. Fortunately quite slowly. Time for new gas struts (had noticed they were a bit weak anyway).
