Picked it up from my local Indy. Service completed, including a transmission fluid & filter change. Coolant thermostat also replaced, had a p0128 code that came up a week prior (good timing, since it was booked in for the service. Spoke to them and they ordered the part in and fitted at short notice.)

One drop link also replaced.

As always great work from the garage.

Ready for the MOT next week.

Finished fitting new anti roll bar bushes and drop links.
Takes ages on your back on the floor when your big hands only allow you to do 1/ 16 of a turn at a time on the very stiff old nuts & bolts. Nice length of 2x2 handy for levering parts into place.
Now to see if the body in the boot has escaped.

I'm about to replace the rear shockers, drop links and take out the rear anti-roll bar to paint it before replacing the bushes.
Just a bit worried the weather may change especially with "very stiff old nuts".

Jack pheasant came off second best

Funnily enough a pigeon tried the same with the mighty R Class last Friday. It lost.

Today's effort was looking to find out why the radio central locking doesn't work. Nothing obvious but I'm curious about the antenna amplifier in the rear luggage door.

I would have expected a cable in the red socket but there are none loose or taped up.

Also managed to change the passenger side intercooler hose (after much swearing and cursing). No obvious leak but the whole area was covered in oil.

Hope your r Class isn't going to be of the same loins as my eClass LK

I was surprised to find the paint inside the old bushes on the anti roll bar was pristine, even though the bar was showing its age.
Be careful to get the right diameter bushes. there are 2 types. I initially got the smaller ones and had to get the bigger ones. If you need the smaller diameter you are welcome to my spares.
On both of mine the captured nuts came loose under pressure. They can be held in place by a 13mm spanner. I'd recommend a good soak with plus gas & hold in place with the spanner to avoid them cracking off.
They are easier to access from the side with the wheel off than from underneath.

Thanks for that.
I checked the diameter of the ARB (13.2mm) and got the 13mm ID bushes, the bar is rusty beyond the bushes and I'll give it a clean and paint if I can be bothered to take the whole thing off and have the patience to let it dry properly, weather permitting.

Bought the new gearbox/ ecu connector, sump seal, filter and ATF fluid ready for the gearbox service by my pet mechanic tonight after work for the wife's new to her C220D.
Also got the new fuel filter, oil filter and air filter ready for action and just waiting for the replacement COMAND Nav head unit to arrive from fleabay.. along with the gearbox dipstick.
Also on the list will be changing the bushes/ control arms, tracking done and getting the cream interior valeted to bring it up all tickety-boo.
Ideally looking to get the MOT advisories sorted on the car, (bushes, light corrosion on rear subframe, brake pipes corroded and corrosion on exhaust, so it sails through next years MOT with a clean bill of health)

Fitted a rear luggage net in the back.
Anchors to the headlining above and load retainers below just behind the second row and prevents luggage from joining us in the front in the event of a sudden stop. Mainly used when going to/from France with a car full.

Still trying to work up to changing the rear shockers, drop links and ARB bushes but keep getting other tasks assigned by the director of operations and trying to find a time when the weather looks clement long enough to finish the job comfortably.

Picked this up this morning in Lidl for €80 complete with 4.0AH battery, charger and four double depth impact sockets so at least unbolting should be easy :)

Don't you mean 4.0Ah?
400ma is less than an AAA battery!
