Sorry I have been quiet for the last month chaps. After 500miles the new discs/pads are finally bedded in and braking feels normal again! I relented last night, as prices of fuel seemed as low as they were going to get, so I chucked in £132 @ 185.9/L for the non-premium. Annoyingly I forgot the Redex at home :/ With that said, someone posted about additives a while back (can’t remember who/what it was), I need to look at buying some of the good stuff as I cannot always rely on, or justify, premium diesels.

Cheers! Yup, that rings a bell. Looks like pretty good value for money, better value than Redex although I wonder what the difference in concentration/content/benefit is. I’ll have to order a batch. I still have 3 bottles of Redex left, I’ll likely switch after those.

Cleaned it, all black plastics treated with AG Bumper & Trim Gel

Clean 2022-1.jpg

The dark indicators look much better than the clear ones it used to have.

Not bad for a 12 yo car with 98k on the clock

Pumped the tyres up, cleaned the screens, loaded it up and drove south until “feet wet”

58mph average and 39mpg - no pic though

The S212 earns it’s keep again today picked up 350kgs (55 stone in real money) of building materials from my local builders merchants not sure what the carrying capacity is but don’t like to overdo it volume wise it would accommodate twice that amount

They do it so well, this was mine back in 2020 when we were doing some things in the garden, about 16 bags of sharpe sand and then 20 lengths of cedar in the roof

Archoil 6400 or 6900 (one is a one off cleaner the other a regular fuel treatment).
Contains 2-EHN as mentioned above and also Polyetheramine (PEA) .

When faced with loads that size I sometimes wish the shooting brake had better access! It's cavernous inside but you cant get big stuff through the tailgate

Yes they do Matt, occasionally I have a weak moment and consider buying a 5 series touring (mainly for the IL6 and ZF box) but I soon come to my senses I have yet to be defeated with anything I wanted to move with the
E class.

I see you didn’t even need to drop the rear seats for that load, doing some of my house refurbs over the years led to some comments from local tip employees about charging me as a commercial lol

I've copied this idea from another forum that I use (A Ford Transit Forum) of all things!

I quite look forward to getting the e-mail notifiers that someone has posted something... De-badged their van, polished it, new wheels maybe... even a new air freshener....

Just a bit of fun really....

So, come on...

We used my S211 for a tip run today, seats down and squabs out with 4 bulk bags of hedge clippings in. I had the Thule roof bars out last weekend with an X-ray machine guard on the roof. Compared to our V40 T4, in Swiss Army knife terms the S211 is a Swiss Champ!

Out with the Earlex vacuum on my return to clean the load space and I went in search of rattles emanating from the rear seat area I was thinking might be the headrests.

One of the plastic escutcheon plates in the seat back where the hugely heavy load cover slides in is broken and the screws were loose. No plate now and all screws tight. I notice an adjustable stop for one end of the load cover and with the seats locked into position there was a gap, surely not that simple?

Easy to adjust with a spanner adding a little load on the right rear seat back lock. Road test, bliss!

I think the left rear door has a squeak now......

Know what you mean, I keep looking at the 218 but every time I do I remember how easy it is getting things in and out.

Yep, same here, I’ve thought of a few alternatives but nothing quite works, so I’ll just make this one better and run for a few more years

Sold - 2021 CLA 35 Premium.
I went a round trip today of 109 miles in total and took before and after photos.
Look at the available range in both photos. :D
Cruise was set at 58mph on both legs of the journey.
