How do you get to that conclusion?
The knurling, easily gripped with tools or fishing line. No real need to touch those buttons on a daily basis other than with your eyes to give a visual indication telling you the door is locked or unlocked unless you need to to lock the door in a panic. Ask an AA or RAC tech about "effecting entry" to your vehicle without breaking glass. Wedges in the door frame or window and pull that, up and much easier on pillarless vehicles.

And if the button sits flush with the top of the door when it's closed and only the small unknurled dome is visible, then what ?

Slip the fishing line loop down the gap in the button hole and onto the knurling.

You really are a charmer.

I look forward to seeing you do it on the cube if Schofield ever makes a ' cum' back. :)

[C216] - Replaced the drain valve in the cabin air intake (item 50), not easy, lots of fiddling, but a good chance to remove leaves and dirt under the starter battery. Also checked the emergency drain (60) to ensure it was able to move freely.

That on mine has just cost me £121 for a new heater fan :(

I’m always cleaning anything out from the corners of the bonnet, I’d not checked around the battery for awhile and that drain had blocked allowing water into the heater, bottom bearing of fan corroded and gave up the ghost :(

Took it for a short drive - from Hampshire to Strasbourg, 520 miles at 27.4mpg. Exploring this beautifully city tomorrow before continuing down to Switzerland on Tuesday,

Checking sunroof drains, and I find this

Thankfully only surface rust, but I was shocked. Treated with rust converter and then POR-15, will follow up with Dynax S-50

Will be checking the other side and keeping them both on my surveillance list!

Well it’s both sides

Got to love Mercedes water drains, always a weak point

Fitted the chinesium blower fan, had to take the motor out to fit the regulator as it wouldn’t go in with it in place. Bit fiddly but went in.

Refitting the motor housing in the car was pretty easy, fitting the filter housing was a lot more challenging as it didn’t want to sit correctly with the new fan housing. Back out and worked out how it went together and what it was catching on.

Back in and “made” it fit, haven’t put the undertray back yet as awaiting a new filter so I get the joy of taking the filter housing apart again…

I could have waited until the new filter was here but I wanted to make sure the fan regulator was working first.

Thankfully it is and the fan blows without noise so a win win.

Coming home from France yesterday and whilst driving through Rouen saw what is possibly one if the rarest AMGs....
A C30 CDi!

It did look pristine too but sadly couldn't get a picture.

Apparently only 691 were made.
